Staycold International have just launched their new fast lane cooler to complement their product range of self-contained commercial fridges and freezers.

This was bought about primarily at the request of retailers, who were looking for a Staycold designed cooler to use in their stores for impulse purchases. Staycold’s R&D department have been developing this cooler, which has past all the field marketing tests and is ready for the market.

The new sliding door cooler can be accessed from both the front and the back of the unit and has a low footprint ideal for check-out isles in supermarkets. The requirement was that this needed to be aesthetically pleasing based on the location, and easily accessible for people spending time queuing and waiting to pay in the isles.

The cooler incorporates all the latest energy saving technologies and uses a Hydrocarbon refrigerant (R290) which is a net-zero compatible alternative to HFC-based systems.

Staycold fully commits to this race to net-zero and have been acknowledged and included in the London-based Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) publication. This has stemmed from the climate emergency of global warming and how all play their part to help address this.

Lena le Roux, staycold’s Managing Director was pleased with this new product development and commented: “We are satisfied that this unit passes our pioneering principles of quality, efficiency, performance, reliability, and durability which have remained at our core for over forty years.”

The business began in 1979 in Parys, South Africa, where their home base factory is still located. The company specialises in display cooling and freezing and is part of the Universal Industries Corporation, an industrial holding company for South Africa’s leading suppliers of refrigeration, bakery and catering equipment.
