Key questions surrounding the viability and legality of the proposed national health insurance funding system as proposed in the NHI Bill in terms of South Africa’s Constitution will be addressed when well-known treasury official and Constitutional law expert, takes the podium at the next Institute for Health Risk Managers (IHRM) seminar in Johannesburg on Friday, March 27*.
Bracher will share insights with NHI Fund development consultant, Dr Nicholas Crisp, on the much-debated constitutionality of the proposals made in the NHI Bill.
While the NHI continues to dominate the headlines as a panacea to South Africa’s dismal health outcomes and fragmented health system on the one hand, reports that 40% of doctors are planning to leave the country should the proposed NHI be implemented will no doubt be among the points raised.
