Local Durban resident, Mr. Valayutham Chetty, has won a whopping R25 000 cash in the grand finale prize draw for a recent bonsella® competition.
Over the past 3 months bonsella®, the largest shopper rewards and loyalty programme in independent retailers across South Africa, has given away over R75 000 worth of grocery vouchers to 30 lucky bonsella® members just for purchasing qualifying products in their favourite bonsella® partner store. Each qualified shopper received an entry into the final random selection draw for the R25 000 cash prize which took place at the end of September.
Mr. Chetty, who swiped his bonsella® card at Oxford Freshmarket in Bluff, Durban says “I’m so excited to have won this amazing prize. It will really go such a long way to making a difference for me during this challenging time. I really have no words, I’m just really happy to have won.”
bonsella® originates from the Zulu word bhansela which means “to express thanks with an extra gift.” Andrew Weinberg, CEO of 2Engage and co-founder of bonsella® says that giving rewards and benefits to shoppers is what the programme is fundamentally about. “The aim of bonsella® is to provide customers within the LSM’s 3 to 6 market who do not have access to large chain retailers or the rewards programmes offered by them, with a rewards solution that allows these shoppers to receive instant rewards, and in turn affords them the opportunity to either make savings or spend the savings on other household items. Over and above the benefits that shoppers receive from being a bonsella® member, we are constantly running spin and win activations in stores as well as various other bonsella® exclusive competitions where shoppers have the opportunity to win fantastic prizes.”
Chetty conveyed his sincere thanks to bonsella® and Oxford Freshmarket, and Weinberg concluded by saying “we’d also like to thank Unilever, Tiger Brands, Lucky Star and Joekels who collaborated with us to make this competition possible.”
